Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Based on the capacity or modification list provided, create the needed polygon for a small cell cluster, search ring for a macro solution, and review the existing site hardware configuration to determine modifications needed.
  • Review designs with system performance and update Atoll with any requested changes.
  • Notify the PM of new nodes or changes created in the design.
  • Create a Fuze project per site/node with specific information for Verizon Real Estate.
  • Review candidates, work directly with Real Estate on prioritizing, and attend implementation meetings prior to site walks.
  • Attend site walks for the best candidate and finalize all related details.
  • Complete as-needed tasks in Fuze under Candidate Selection, finalize Modification and Carrier Add Designs, and add the final design under RFDS Selection.
  • Stay compliant: perform Atoll final updates, 911 submissions, and regulatory submissions; complete outstanding regulatory items and documents; and learn to use RAVE, IXUS or other RF Safety tools. Must understand FCC compliance standards.
  • Work on Landlord Letters.
  • Assign Cell IDs and PCIs for macro/small cells, enter in Atoll, and create CQ for building the site using internal tools.
  • Submit E911 by checking Atoll accuracy and following up on TVW creation and internal CART tool for Phase 2 E911 setup.
  • Collaborate with the performance team to understand design restrictions related to loading or rent increases.
  • Use Atoll daily to create new builds and modify existing cell sites; update sites with proper translations, power settings, equipment, and activate when the site is live.
  • Review 48-hour milestone status when As-Built data differs from design and coordinate with Construction for any major discrepancies.
  • Activate in all necessary tools, especially Atoll, and work daily with project management, construction, and real estate to resolve issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive Atoll experience: capable of creating new sites, copying old sites, and adding carriers with an understanding of table differences.
  • Proven RF design experience in Macro Mods, initial builds for small cells and macros, and C-Band design experience.
  • Strong understanding of FCC compliance standards and adherence to regulatory submission processes.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in RF Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • DESIRED SKILLS: Experience with Verizon tools such as Fuze SPM, Conquest for the RF portion of the CQ, Canvas, and SPM Reporting.
  • Familiarity with IXUS RF Safety Software or similar EME reporting tools.
  • Experience with MapInfo or ArcGIS mapping tools for presentations.
  • Understanding of 5G C-Band spectrum.
