As the Director, Product Marketing, you will be responsible for strategically planning, implementing, and managing all marketing aspects of the assigned product portfolio. You will drive both long-range strategic planning and short-term tactical execution, ensuring that revenue, profitability, and growth targets are met or exceeded by introducing innovative new products, maintaining strong relationships with key opinion leaders, and actively supporting the field sales force.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive marketing strategy and plans for the existing product portfolio and the launch of new products, driving the product commercialization efforts.
  • Lead and own the business performance of the assigned portfolio of products and solutions to drive, meet/exceed revenue, profitability, and growth targets.
  • Collaborate with R&D and surgeon designers to organize and execute productive product meeting events.
  • Actively seek out, validate, and define new product concepts for development.
  • Analyze product line performance from both quantitative and qualitative standpoints to determine which products should be discontinued.
  • Participate in the establishment of processes and metrics to successfully drive performance.
  • Continuously analyze the market and customer feedback to identify trends, opportunities, and threats while developing a clear understanding of the product market and competitive landscape.
  • Conduct product training for the field sales force.
  • Establish pricing strategies, list prices, and discount structures.
  • Lead a team of Product Manager(s), fostering talent progression and ensuring continued development through training, coaching, and leadership.
  • Create (and update regularly) production forecasts and manage inventory for maximum return on invested capital.
  • Manage attendance at all exhibits & tradeshows, advertising efforts, and collaborate with graphics/ad firms to produce all marketing-related collateral.
  • Assist with strategically planning and executing medical education events to drive product adoption.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field; MBA (preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of successful product marketing or related experience in a medical device company (orthopedic experience preferred) with demonstrated progressive levels of accomplishment.
  • Proven track record of building, executing, operationalizing, and scaling marketing strategies and measuring their impact.
  • Previous team leadership experience is strongly preferred.
