As UX/UI Product Designer, you will join a high-performing design team responsible for shaping the in-cabin digital experience across DTNA’s multi-branded portfolio—including Freightliner, Western Star, and business subsidiaries. You will contribute to design projects, gaining hands-on experience in creating user-centered solutions for production vehicles, advanced design programs, and concept explorations. You will own design execution for defined features with minimal day-to-day oversight and be accountable for the quality and completeness of your design outputs.

Key Responsibilities
- Own and design UX/UI execution for complex in-vehicle digital features or systems across multiple global truck brands—from problem framing through final delivery.
- Translate requirements and user needs into high-quality, end-to-end design solutions, from early concepts through final UI, working independently with minimal guidance.
- Apply user-centered design principles, leveraging research insights, system constraints, and brand guidelines to inform design decisions.
- Plan, support, and synthesize user research activities, clearly articulating findings and design implications to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Build interactive prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate interactions, flows, and overall design intent.
- Deliver implementation-ready design outputs, including annotated specifications, component behavior definitions, and necessary assets.
- Contribute directly to design systems and shared UI patterns, ensuring consistency, scalability, and long-term quality.
- Proactively represent UX/UI in cross-functional collaboration, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in UX, Interaction Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, or Graphic Design, with internship experience or up to 1–2 years of professional experience in UX/UI, product design, automotive, mobility, or complex digital products.
- A portfolio (academic, internship, or personal work) demonstrating strong visual and interaction design execution, problem-solving ability, and ownership of outcomes.
- Solid grounding in user-centered design principles and design thinking, with a drive to grow into HMI and system-level UX practices.
- Proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent) with the ability to produce polished, implementation-ready design outputs.
- Experience collaborating with engineering or development teams, including clear communication of design decisions and tradeoffs.
- Comfort working in cross-functional environments with engineers, researchers, and product managers, taking responsibility for your design scope.
- A proactive, curious mindset with openness to feedback and a bias toward learning through execution.

Preferred Qualifications
- Foundational 3D skills with an understanding of utilizing 3D content in real-time or in-vehicle digital environments.
- Experience with advanced prototyping or implementation tools, such as ProtoPie, Unreal Engine, Kanzi, Unity, or similar platforms.
- Comfort working close to code, including design-to-code workflows, scripting, or technical prototyping.
- Exposure to emerging technologies such as AR, VR, or spatial interfaces, with the ability to translate explorations into practical UX/UI improvements, including the use of AI in the design process.
Benefits & Perks
- Salary: $71,000 – $91,000 USD
- Compensation: Dependent on Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
