Job Description

Position Overview

Ken’s Food Distribution is a broadline foodservice distributor specializing in fresh produce, pastries, frozen meats and seafood, and dry goods. As we expand our presence in the Austin market, we are seeking a driven, relationship-focused Sales Associate to develop new restaurant accounts, manage existing customer relationships, and serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts. This full-time, field-based role in Austin requires flexibility and a commitment to quality service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business by prospecting and onboarding restaurants, chefs, and foodservice operators in the Austin area.
  • Manage and grow existing accounts through regular in-person visits, phone calls, and follow-ups.
  • Present and sell Ken’s full product line, including produce, seafood, meats, pastries, dry goods, and packaging.
  • Act as a trusted partner by understanding client menus, needs, and buying patterns.
  • Coordinate closely with operations, purchasing, and delivery teams to ensure accurate orders and high service levels.
  • Handle customer inquiries and service needs promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor pricing, margins, and growth opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate customer records including notes, pricing, and activity logs.
  • Represent Ken’s Food Distribution professionally at all times in the field.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous sales experience in foodservice, produce, seafood, or restaurant supply.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel locally throughout the Austin area.
  • Comfortable building relationships with chefs, owners, and restaurant managers.
