Position Overview

We are looking for qualified pharmacists to join our team and assist with inpatient services – ensuring PATIENT CARE SECOND TO NONE! As part of this role, you will help supervise technical staff, verify drug orders, counsel patients, and perform a variety of duties as directed by the Director of Pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Entry and/or verification of drug orders into the computer
- Supervising technical staff and checking the final product prior to dispensing to patients
- Accepting telephone orders from physicians
- Providing consultation on drug matters to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare personnel
- Providing clinical services based on approved protocols
- Supervision and final inspection of packaging or manufacturing processes
- Patient training and counseling
- Reviewing the surgery schedule
- Informing technicians of BSS bottles needed in stock for cataract cases
- Managing pre-op antibiotics for surgery cases: releasing orders and verifying in Cerner
- Coordinating same day surgery medications to be delivered to patient rooms
- Ensuring that all surgery preparations are delivered by 7 am
- Monitoring refrigerators and conducting unit inspections
- Performing any and all activities that a pharmacy technician may perform
- Other duties as directed by the Director of Pharmacy
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy
- Registered pharmacist in good standing under the laws of the State of Illinois
- COVID-19 vaccination is required as a condition of employment (subject to accommodation for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs)
