Retail Account & Operations Manager (CPG)
Our client is a high-growth omnichannel consumer products company with a diverse portfolio of global brands distributed through Direct-to-Consumer eCommerce, Amazon, and national retailers such as Target, Walmart, and Kroger. They build and scale brands that consumers love by combining innovation, data, and operational excellence to deliver results across digital and retail channels. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, this role manages the operational execution behind the retail business by bridging sales, operations, finance, and supply chain to ensure products flow efficiently from planning to shelf.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibilities: Retail Forecasting & Demand Planning – Own retail forecasts in collaboration with brokers and the supply chain team; translate sales data, promotions, and market insights into accurate inventory plans; and align forecasts with production and inventory planning to maintain service-level targets.
- Responsibilities: Operational Account Management – Manage daily retail operations with major customers by ensuring timely order processing, compliance, and execution; oversee new item setup, planogram execution, and retail promotional activities; and partner with 3PLs and brokers to support new product introductions.
- Responsibilities: Deduction & Trade Spend Management – Review and resolve deductions, chargebacks, and short payments in collaboration with Finance; track trade programs and validate ROI for promotional spending; and maintain accurate records of retailer debits and recovery outcomes.
- Responsibilities: Vendor Scorecard Performance – Monitor and improve KPIs such as OTIF, fill rates, compliance fines, and routing accuracy; lead corrective actions across 3PLs, manufacturers, and internal teams; and partner with supply chain to resolve root-cause issues affecting retailer metrics.
- Responsibilities: Cross-Functional Leadership – Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure flawless retail execution; coordinate with Marketing and Product teams on launches, packaging updates, and retail timelines; and report performance, risks, and wins to executive leadership on a weekly basis.
