Senior Industrial Engineer
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to optimize complex production and operational processes. This role is vital for driving efficiency, reducing waste, and improving quality across manufacturing and operational environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma), simulation, facility layout design, and project management. You will play a key role in analyzing existing systems, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing data-driven solutions to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness. This position requires on-site presence in Miami, Florida, US.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and design optimal production and operational workflows, equipment usage, and facility layouts.
- Develop and implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
- Conduct time and motion studies, and establish standard work procedures.
- Utilize simulation software to model and evaluate proposed process changes before implementation.
- Identify opportunities for automation and technological integration to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Develop and maintain performance metrics to track efficiency, quality, and output.
- Lead cross-functional teams on continuous improvement projects.
- Collaborate with operations, manufacturing, and engineering teams to implement recommendations.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings and project outcomes.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and operational staff on process improvement techniques.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards in all process designs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a focus on manufacturing or operations.
- Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification highly desirable), and other process improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., Arena, FlexSim) and CAD software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience in project management and leading improvement initiatives.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab).
- Knowledge of supply chain and logistics principles is beneficial.
- Proficiency in relevant ERP systems.
