Position Overview
Palantir builds the world’s leading software for data‐driven decisions and operations, empowering partners to develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, and locate missing children. As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDSE), you will work directly with customers to understand complex challenges and design solutions that leverage data for real impact. Salary: $135,000 - $145,000/year (total compensation may include Restricted Stock Units, sign‐on bonus, and other incentives based on qualifications and experience).
Key Responsibilities
- Work in small teams with minimal supervision while owning end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects.
- Engage with customers to understand their challenges and design innovative, data-driven solutions.
- Collaborate with fellow FDSEs, product teams, and Deployment Strategists to optimize outcomes.
- Tackle technical challenges ranging from large-scale data wrangling to developing custom web applications and discussing system architecture.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, Data Science, or related fields.
- Proficiency with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript).
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal direction.
- Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
- Eagerness to creatively solve technical challenges with tools including data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks.
- Interest in leveraging large-scale data to address valuable business problems.
- Willingness to travel (typically 25-50%) as needed to client sites.
