Forward Deployed Software Engineer, New Grad (NY)

Position Overview

Palantir builds the world’s leading software for data‐driven decisions and operations, empowering partners to develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, and locate missing children. As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDSE), you will work directly with customers to understand complex challenges and design solutions that leverage data for real impact. Salary: $135,000 - $145,000/year (total compensation may include Restricted Stock Units, sign‐on bonus, and other incentives based on qualifications and experience).

Key Responsibilities

• Work in small teams with minimal supervision while owning end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects.
• Engage with customers to understand their challenges and design innovative, data-driven solutions.
• Collaborate with fellow FDSEs, product teams, and Deployment Strategists to optimize outcomes.
• Tackle technical challenges ranging from large-scale data wrangling to developing custom web applications and discussing system architecture.

Required Qualifications

• Engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, Data Science, or related fields.
• Proficiency with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript).

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal direction.
• Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
• Eagerness to creatively solve technical challenges with tools including data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks.
• Interest in leveraging large-scale data to address valuable business problems.
• Willingness to travel (typically 25-50%) as needed to client sites.
