Position Overview

QA/QC Technician – Prism Electric

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with superintendents and foremen to plan and organize activities for construction projects.
  • Confer with supervisors and foremen to discuss work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
  • Perform quality and compliance inspections.
  • Record and organize documentation to memorialize the implementation, maintenance, and effectiveness of the QC program.
  • Monitor all QC/QA documentation and other reports required for the project.
  • Inspect and test systems and auxiliary equipment to locate and identify problems using reading and testing instruments.
  • Track, manage, and monitor supplies and materials received and used to complete the project.
  • Continually develop QC/QA procedures and logs.
  • Communicate effectively with subcontractors, superintendents, office staff, engineering staff, consultants, and owner representatives to facilitate project activities.
  • Coordinate work assignment preparation and completion with other workers.
  • Investigate potentially serious situations and suggest corrective measures.
  • Represent the company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Work with/train QC Monitors and Superintendents to promote Prism's AQTRD Monitor program.
  • Ensure QC inspection forms, Megger logs, and torque logs are completed, updated, organized, and filed prior to energization.
  • Assist in confirming project compliance with job specifications with the superintendent and project manager.
  • Notify the QC manager if any training is needed (e.g., megger, torque wrench, gr. point tester).
  • Ensure recorded drawings are updated weekly and that proper sign-off documentation is completed and filed before equipment start-up or feeder energization.
  • Oversee that each task is performed and documented as required, even if not completed personally.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven people management, process management, and performance management skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical installation requirements and NEC.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Note: The role requires working in varied environments (heat, cold, rain), wearing personal protective equipment, and performing physical tasks (lifting heavy objects, crawling, stooping, etc.) which constitute over 70% of the job.
