Position Overview
Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Technical Lead. Working Pattern: Full time. Location: Indianapolis, IN. Salary: $119,520 - $194,220-Annually. As the Manufacturing Engineering Technical Lead you will be the Technical Authority for the Supplier Management Team by integrating all Manufacturing Engineering activity across the product lifecycle and through the supply chain. You will lead, manage and develop the Manufacturing Engineers within the team and be professionally accountable to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Key Responsibilities
- Approving component airworthiness through the processing of critical data associated with component definition, associated specifications, and compliance to Rolls-Royce procedures.
- Subject to appropriate delegation, Chair the change authority.
- Lead the technical input into the supply chain strategy, ensuring that Commodity and Manufacturing Process strategy implications are incorporated into relevant capital plans.
- Integrate Capability Acquisition and Product Introduction activities, approving new capabilities and methods of manufacture for new parts/assemblies.
- Ensure that new capabilities/methods are at the required level of readiness for production application.
- Develop real time methods for capturing process capability and ensure they are acted upon within the facility, supply chain, and new product design.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering Commodity Leaders and Manufacturing Process Owners to drive manufacturing processes towards best practices.
- Lead technical problem resolution and improvement activities, coaching the team in the use of RRPS and DMAIC tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, or
- Master's degree with 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, or
- JD/PhD
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or US Permanent Resident to be considered for this role
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to discuss both technical and business issues with all levels of management within the supply chain and Rolls-Royce.
- Experience bringing diverse groups together to resolve technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive solutions.
- DMAIC Yellow and/or Green and/or Black Belt Certification.
- Understanding of metal removal and/or casting processing of Aerospace components.
- Knowledge of FAIR (First Article Inspection Report) processes.
- Practical knowledge of source/method change and classified parts control.
- General awareness of Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, Manufacturing Intelligence, SAP, Technical Publications, etc.) relevant to the business.
- Experience leading projects/activities across a range of Manufacturing Engineering processes.
