Position Overview

Valley Hospital Medical Center, located in the heart of Las Vegas and serving Southern Nevada since 1972, is an acute care and teaching hospital offering comprehensive services including advanced cardiology, neurology, and surgery. Key Responsibilities

  • Assume shift responsibility and accountability for planning and delivering direct and indirect nursing care to patients and their families.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary team members and facilitate nursing staff to achieve safe, optimal health outcomes.
  • Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team while guiding and overseeing supervised employees.
  • Support activities that align with the facility's vision, mission, and goals.
  • Uphold and demonstrate Service Excellence standards at all times.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing – BSN required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year full time or three (3) years part time experience in acute care specialty nursing.
  • Proficient in physical assessment of cardiovascular patients with a solid understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology; comfortable with 12 lead EKG interpretation and cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Current RN license in the State of Nevada and current BLS certification. ACLS, PALS, NRP and/or other specialty training is required upon hire.
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessments required by the facility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) to three (3) years of supervisory experience in nursing.
  • Experience in stress testing is preferred.
