Field Service Technician (BAS / HVAC Controls)

Location: BWI Airport, MD to Ashburn, VA (60-mile service radius)

Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Travel: Mileage reimbursed to and between job sites

Overview

We are seeking a Field Service Technician to support Building Automation Systems (BAS) across commercial sites within a 60-mile radius of the BWI to Ashburn, VA area. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity with strong potential for permanent placement based on performance.

This team is growing, with multiple openings available and anticipated continued expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Commissioning

• Install and commission BAS systems
• Integrate system components and ensure proper functionality

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform preventative maintenance on BAS components
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, and HVAC-related issues

Software & Controls

• Download, update, and verify BAS software
• Support controls programming and system configuration

Calibration & Testing

• Calibrate HVAC systems and controls for optimal performance
• Conduct system testing and performance validation

Monitoring & Diagnostics

• Monitor system efficiency and safety
• Perform diagnostics and repairs as needed

Compliance

• Maintain required company certifications and training compliance

Qualifications

Experience

• 3–6 years of experience in one or more of the following:
• BAS Controls
• HVAC Controls
• Controls Commissioning
• PLC Programming

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems
• Electrical systems troubleshooting
• Controls and automation systems
• Basic computer networking knowledge

Education

• Technical school graduate OR
• 4-year degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred)
• Junior candidates with a Bachelor's in Engineering will be considered

Certifications

• Relevant certifications in HVAC, Electrical, or BAS technologies preferred
