Position Overview

As a Senior Graphic Designer at UMass Boston, you will be responsible for creating university publications, advertisements, social media posts, interactive projects, and other visual materials that enhance the university’s image. You will collaborate closely with fellow designers, photographers, writers, and editors while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines. This is a Staff Full Time position with a Pay Grade: 30 (Job no: 527321).

Key Responsibilities

• Design university publications, advertising materials, social media posts, and large format projects from conception to completion.
• Manage workflow, priorities, and multiple projects simultaneously.
• Maintain adherence to the university’s brand, logo, and color standards.
• Meet with university clients to define publication designs, specifications, schedules, and ensure materials meet brand guidelines.
• Oversee development of printing specifications, review cost estimates, and inspect printer proofs for quality assurance.
• Collaborate with writers, editors, and other creative staff to develop cohesive university publications.

Required Qualifications

• BFA in Graphic Design
• 5-7 years of professional marketing and graphic design experience
• Extensive knowledge of graphic design principles, typography, printing, production, and photography
• Ability to produce a high volume of high-quality printed pieces under tight deadlines
