University Internships: Engineering and Technology – 2026 opportunities. The Baker Hughes Internship is designed for students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree to gain hands-on work experience. You will gain first-hand insight into processes, systems, and practices that ensure flawless execution and the application of leading-edge technology in a global energy company. Key Responsibilities
- Complete internal projects to deliver customer outcomes and identify business improvements.
- Assist engineers or technologists with ongoing projects by conducting research, data analysis, and technical support.
- Participate in the design process, create drawings or prototypes, and contribute to the development of new products or technologies.
- Keep accurate records of experiments, designs, and project-related information; prepare reports or documentation as needed.
- Collaborate on software development, coding, or programming tasks with engineers.
- Work as part of a team, communicate effectively with colleagues, engineers, and supervisors to achieve project goals, and propose solutions to technical challenges.
- Apply HS&E standards and procedures in all situations to ensure compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Engineering, Technology, Mechanics, or another STEM-related field.
- Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher (or equivalent in your country).
- Fluent in oral and written English with effective communication skills.
- Able to relocate for the duration of the internship (locations vary).
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employment sponsorship now or in the future.
