Position Overview
Amazon seeks a talented professional to join its Corporate Development organization. In this high-visibility role, you will evaluate a wide range of business opportunities, including M&A, investments, and other strategic pursuits. You will assist in due diligence, conduct extensive research on industries, potential partners, and investment strategies, and communicate your findings and recommendations to senior management and the executive team. Additionally, you will support decision-making by leading financial analyses and strategy formation while adapting to ambiguous assignments through an independent and intellectually curious approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate a wide range of business opportunities including M&A, investments, and strategic initiatives.
- Assist in due diligence and conduct extensive research on industries, potential partners, and investment strategies.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and the executive team.
- Support decision-making by leading financial analyses and guiding strategy formation.
- Adapt to ambiguous assignments by framing situations from multiple perspectives including those of end-customers, business owners, and corporate finance professionals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3+ years of experience in corporate development, private equity, or investment banking (coverage or M&A) with a focus on technology, media, entertainment, e-commerce/retail, grocery, health care, or advertising industries.
- After successful phone interviews, ability to complete a modeling assessment and provide a writing sample during the interview process.
Preferred Qualifications
- High proficiency with corporate valuation techniques, financial modeling, and accounting acumen.
- Advanced analytical skills.
- Fluency with Excel and supporting financial software (e.g. FactSet, S&P Capital IQ).
- Excellent business judgment.
- Persuasive oral and written communication skills.

- Compensation: Base pay ranges from $85,500/year to $164,600/year depending on geographic location and other job-related factors.
