Position Overview
Nike Digital Product Design executes thoughtful design solutions for business and consumer challenges at scale – defining user experiences and interfaces for Nike’s Commerce Experiences (Nike App, Nike.com, and Nike.net). As a Senior Principal Designer, you are the visionary architect behind entire product experiences. You have a proven track record of launching industry-leading products, and you push the organization to pursue new opportunities that positively impact the business.
You’ll be part of the Nike Marketplace (.Net) Team, focusing on the end-to-end shopping experience for our Partner Business. Here, you will collaborate closely with product managers, program managers, engineers, researchers, and fellow designers to translate business, feature, and user requirements into impactful design executions.
Open to remote work except in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia. Compensation: The annual base salary for this position ranges from $178,900.00 in our lowest geographic market to $376,600.00 in our highest. Actual salary will vary based on your location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Rapidly visualize, prototype, and explore multiple product design directions in response to hypotheses, considering both business and technical impacts.
- Own large end-to-end initiatives that span multiple teams and drive innovation in new product areas or disciplines.
- Define entire categories of experiences by proposing solutions that drive business objectives and uncover new opportunities.
- Elevate the role of digital design at Nike and facilitate dialogue between our organization and the external design community.
- Inspire and mentor other designers while raising the bar through your personal work and leadership.
- Drive industry-wide thought leadership on high-visibility projects, policies, or initiatives.
- Ensure cross-functional support by prioritizing product goals and influencing strategic market approaches.
- Guide multiple teams to solve complex problems previously deemed insurmountable.
- Influence team culture to become more inclusive, welcoming, and candid by leading cross-organizational initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience in the design industry.
- Bachelor's degree in design or a related field—or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- An entrepreneurial spirit with refined business acumen sought after by senior leaders.
- Strategic thinker capable of connecting business goals with consumer needs to create exceptional experiences.
- A world-class track record in design, recognized both internally and externally.
- Expertise in information architecture, interaction design, and UI design.
- Strong collaborator with proven experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe CC, Principle, and Keynote.
- Ownership mindset with a history of leading complex projects and driving innovation.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to use storytelling and narrative techniques to influence stakeholders.
- Impeccable attention to visual detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality, polished designs.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with diverse teams.
