Job Description

Position Overview

The Division of Child Development and Rehabilitation at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria is recruiting a 1.0 FTE Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician with expertise in caring for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities. This role offers an opportunity to work in both inpatient and outpatient settings, participate in interdisciplinary care programs such as the Comprehensive Interdisciplinary Cerebral Palsy Program and Multidisciplinary Spina Bifida Program, and engage in teaching, research, quality improvement, advocacy, and community involvement.

Compensation: $249,084 to $351,382 per year. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications while considering internal equity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessment and management of children with physical disabilities in the outpatient clinic.
  • Inpatient consultation and follow-up of patients admitted with brain injury, spinal cord injury, or physical injury.
  • Follow-up of patients in transition programs such as the Almost Home Kids program.
  • Management of movement disorders, including spasticity and dystonia.
  • Participation in the Comprehensive Interdisciplinary Cerebral Palsy Program and the Multidisciplinary Spina Bifida Program.
  • Teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Engaging with the community to enhance the lives of children with disabilities and their families.

Required Qualifications

  • M.D. or equivalent.
  • Board Certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
  • Eligibility for licensure in Illinois.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fellowship in Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
  • Board Eligible in Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
  • A strong desire to develop programs for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities in the region.
