Overview

SolarWinds, a leader in Observability, Service Management, and Database software, is looking for a self-driven Senior Marketing Analyst who will actively partner with the Go To Market teams to uncover meaningful insights and help teams to improve operational efficiency. This role will support the Marketing organization by conducting and presenting analyses across business units, web properties, the data warehouse.

Primary responsibilities will include the building and maintenance of dashboards to help monitor and improve general campaign trends and funnel conversion rates, and working with the Marketing team to design, implement, and interpret campaign performance with the purpose of optimizing conversion and other key behaviors. The Senior Marketing Analyst will be responsible for tracking, reporting and analyzing online user behavior, A/B test performance, and overall lift from marketing programs. The Senior Analyst will also identify new ideas and opportunities for improving analytics capabilities including integration with offline and external data sources.

Intellectual curiosity, problem-solving and resourcefulness are key qualities, as aspects of support involve troubleshooting data disparities within complex systems, and researching data across multiple channels, geographies and products. It is critical that all reports and analyses are delivered on time and accurately to key stakeholders within the organization.

Position Summary

The Senior Marketing Analyst supports the business with data-driven decision making. The ideal candidate has a passion for driving effective digital initiatives and helping stakeholders to use data in telling a performance story. The role is cross-functional, collaborating with data engineering, marketing management, and digital marketing teams to support efforts that drive revenue and continuously optimize how our digital presence benefits our customers and prospective buyers.

This role will report to the Senior Manager, Marketing Analytics, and join a team tasked to translate data into business-driving insights, and ensure continuous optimization across online metrics and decision making for global Marketing teams. The Senior Marketing Analyst becomes part of our company-wide Analyst guild that has diverse expertise in online data, multi-channel attribution and algorithm creation, regression analysis and data mining, has access to best in class analytics tools and a talented data team, and is a trusted partner across the organization. The Senior Marketing Analyst will have the opportunity to help guide our strategy in:

  • Website behavior and user experience
  • Measuring and optimizing digital marketing tactics and channels
  • Analytics infrastructure: enhancing organizational intelligence by introducing new ways of assessing web performance or introducing net new sources of data into our infrastructure

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver dashboards and detailed monthly and quarterly results summaries to management team
  • Perform ad hoc analyses of websites and/or online marketing channels
  • Partner with marketing teams to track daily, weekly and monthly business performance against goals and provide trend analysis against prior periods
  • Develop and refine performance reports to monitor marketing campaigns and activities, and communicate trends and anomalies to teams
  • Work with marketing analytics leadership to creatively solve key business issues and identify areas for opportunity
  • Provide ad hoc and "deep" analysis, synthesize recommendations, and present results
  • Translate results of complex analytic problems into actionable recommendations or strategies
  • Develop scalable reporting of marketing ROI, analyze trends, and make recommendations

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with web testing and analytics tools, such as Tableau, Adobe Analytics, Optimizely, Google Analytics
  • Experience with A/B, multivariate and other web testing and optimization practices
  • Basic knowledge of database architecture and querying (Microsoft SQL, BigQuery), experience with data visualization software (Tableau), or familiarity with online marketing channels (SEO, PPC) is a plus
  • Familiarity with marketing ROI methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; ability to present data, analyses and insights in a clear and logical manner
  • Intellectual agility and a sense of urgency

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in marketing or web analytics
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and basic graphing features) and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor's degree with analytics or business coursework (Finance, Statistics, etc.)
  • Advanced degree is preferable
