Position Overview
Smith+Nephew designs and manufactures technology that takes the limits off living. The Global Supply Chain & Procurement Leadership Development Program is designed for top-performing college students studying Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related fields. Over a 2 to 2.5 year period, participants will engage in process improvement projects, rotational assignments across global supply chain functions, and professional development opportunities that help propel the organization forward while advancing their careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop knowledge in each rotational area and achieve the objectives for each assignment.
- Work with a functional manager and peer mentor assigned to each rotation.
- Engage in day-to-day rotational responsibilities as well as additional continuous improvement activities.
- Participate in diverse professional development opportunities to gain insights into the medical device industry.
- Receive guidance and career coaching from a development mentor and an executive mentor.
- Create presentations, perform analytics, or complete other tasks for senior leadership.
- Present a Capstone presentation at the conclusion of each rotation to senior leaders across Supply Chain and Procurement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related major.
- Excellent academic standing (3.3 GPA preferred).
- Previous internship, co-op, part-time, or apprenticeship experience is a plus.
- High learning agility, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and leadership abilities; proven capacity as both an independent thinker and team player; robust proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with medical devices, manufacturing standards, and related processes is an advantage.
