A leading global manufacturer is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to support precision measurement, quality control, and inspection activities. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented technical professional with strong dimensional measurement and data analysis skills. Reporting to the Operations Director, the new hire will contribute to product quality and compliance by performing inspections and analysis while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Measure key features and parts to ensure adherence to specification and control plans.
  • Program measurement equipment for automated vision system and CMM dimensional checks.
  • Maintain quality records for batch and part traceability.
  • Enter data in ERP system for record retention.
  • Work closely with Suppliers, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Customer Service & Sales to arrive at corrective and preventive actions for defects.
  • Conduct regular quality control tests and audits to verify measurement accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze measurement data, identify trends, and assess instrument performance, including uncertainty analysis and statistical process control.
  • Develop, write, and update measurement procedures, calibration protocols, and technical reports for internal use and compliance records.
  • Document and report any deviations or discrepancies in measurement results and maintain detailed records for auditing and quality control purposes.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to measurement accuracy, instrument malfunctions, and process deviations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and optimize measurement systems and processes.
  • Coordinate return of failures to suppliers through non-conforming process, follow up for corrective actions / implementation and ensure effectiveness.
  • Conduct first article approval for new part numbers or change in supplier, as necessary.
  • Perform evaluations and testing for new product introduction.
  • Perform other duties may be assigned.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures and organize work areas for efficiency and safety.
  • Provide status reports to management as required.

Requirements:

  • Two-year technical degree and at least two years of experience as a Quality Technician or equivalent combinations of skills and experience is needed.
  • Experience using and programming CMM equipment.
  • Familiar with using measurement equipment. Calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, thickness and height gauges, pressure and leak measurement instruments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including email, creating/editing word documents and PowerPoint work instructions.
  • Detail oriented person.
  • Organize and maintain electronic files so supplier and customer supporting materials are easily retrievable.
  • Specific Skill requirements include excellent oral and written communication skills, and proven teamwork ability.
  • Foreign Language skills is a plus.
  • Must have basic understanding of statistics.
