Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing solutions, is seeking a talented Lead Robotics Engineer to join their innovative team in Tampa, Florida, US. This pivotal role will involve the design, development, integration, and testing of sophisticated robotic systems for a variety of industrial applications. You will lead a team of engineers, guiding them through the entire project lifecycle, from conceptualization and feasibility studies to final deployment and validation.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mechanical design principles, control systems, kinematics, and dynamics, with a proven track record in robotics development. Responsibilities include overseeing the mechanical design of robotic arms, end-effectors, and mobile platforms; developing and implementing advanced control algorithms; selecting and integrating sensors and vision systems; programming industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB); and conducting rigorous performance testing and validation.
You will also be responsible for troubleshooting complex technical issues, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including software developers, electrical engineers, and project managers. A strong emphasis will be placed on innovation, continuous improvement, and ensuring the safety and reliability of all robotic solutions.
The successful candidate will possess a Master's degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field, coupled with at least 8 years of progressive experience in robotics engineering. Demonstrated leadership experience is essential. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Gazebo) is required. Hands-on experience with PLC programming and industrial automation is highly advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, and exceptional communication and leadership qualities are critical for success in this role.
