Position Overview
Based in Boston, this is a hybrid position that requires 2‑3 days in the office. Tracksmith, an independent running brand that honors the Amateur Spirit and champions the Running Class, is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer / Art Director to elevate and strengthen its brand imagery. This role is a creative leadership opportunity for a visual storyteller who can concept, direct, and execute compelling creative across all channels, driving brand consistency and innovation through thoughtful design, strategic thinking, and creative leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the brand’s visual identity across all consumer touchpoints—digital, print, product, retail, and packaging.
- Conceptualize and lead seasonal creative campaigns and product launches, from moodboards to final assets.
- Mentor junior designers and freelancers, providing clear creative direction and feedback.
- Collaborate closely with the product design team on apparel and footwear graphics, color palettes, and print applications.
- Direct visual storytelling for marketing initiatives, including photoshoots, social content, videos, and brand experiences.
- Create compelling presentations to pitch creative concepts to internal teams and external partners.
- Ensure all creative output is aligned with brand standards and performance goals.
- Manage creative workflows and timelines, balancing hands-on design with art direction.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in graphic design, with at least 2 years in a lead creative role; experience in fashion, sportswear, or lifestyle brands preferred.
- Strong portfolio showcasing both hands-on design work and campaign-level creative thinking.
- Mastery of tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); motion design experience is a plus.
- Experience directing photography, video, or branded content.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to own projects from concept to execution.
- Passion for running, fitness, or active lifestyles is pretty important.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in UX/UI design or eCommerce platforms.
- Illustration or custom typography skills.
- Familiarity with 3D mockups or apparel design tools.
