As an Inside Account Executive on the Categories and Expansion team, you will drive the expansion of Whatnot’s supply by acquiring and nurturing new livestream sellers. You’ll manage the entire sales cycle—from initial pitch and onboarding to strategic coaching and continuous growth—ensuring you consistently meet or exceed sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deeply understand the end-to-end sales process and collaborate with the team to bring high-potential sellers to Whatnot.
  • Become the go-to expert on how SMBs, primarily sellers with an online presence, can scale their business with Whatnot.
  • Partner with Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) to source and prospect sellers, secure discovery and onboarding calls.
  • Lead sales calls via video and phone, effectively overcoming objections and communicating Whatnot’s unique value proposition.
  • Close sellers, onboard them onto the platform, and set them up for success.
  • Utilize key data points to assess seller growth, success, and areas for improvement, driving continuous iteration.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to develop business growth strategies and relay product improvements and feedback.

Required Qualifications

  • A passion for Whatnot’s mission—living and breathing community needs while relentlessly improving user experiences.
  • Up to 3 years of experience in a fast-paced, client-facing role with a track record of working quickly and iteratively.
  • A scrappy, flexible mindset capable of thriving in an ambiguous environment with limited guidance.
  • Proven experience selling and closing deals with the ability to manage multiple accounts and diverse client needs simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and a readiness to learn new systems.
  • Strong business acumen combined with deep analytical skills to understand and act upon data-driven insights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a high-growth startup, marketplace, or creator-focused platform.
  • Proficiency in Airtable and Salesforce.
  • A passion for creator communities or new product categories uniquely suited to live ecommerce.
  • Experience buying and selling in online marketplaces.

Compensation

For US-based applicants:$85,000-135,000 per year + benefits + stock options. The estimated pay range represents total on-target earnings (including base salary and on-target incentive pay). Final salary will be determined based on level, relevant experience, skills, and expertise.
