Job Description
Position Overview
As the Manager of Search Engine Marketing, you will lead our paid search team as part of the data-driven Digital Advertising Team. This role is responsible for managing SEM strategies across all 8 Williams-Sonoma, Inc. brands, collaborating with internal partners and external vendors to drive operational excellence, vendor/tool management, budget oversight, and analytical insights to maximize Direct-to-Consumer sales. Candidates must be prepared to work onsite in the SF office Monday through Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the performance and career development of 3-4 SEM Specialists while reporting to the Director of SEM.
- Manage relationships with external partners—including agencies, bidding tool providers, and vendor account teams—to drive testing, optimization, and maximize DTC sales.
- Collaborate with internal teams (CRM, Data Science, Tech) to align SEM strategies with overall brand objectives and share key insights.
- Develop strategies, implement tests/alphas/betas, analyze results, and roll out learnings across all brands.
- Partner with the SEM Director on vendor, budget management, spend, and traffic forecasting.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years' experience in digital marketing with a focus on SEM/Shopping campaign management.
- Proficiency in SEM/PLA bid management platforms (e.g., Kenshoo, SA360) and the Google Ads ecosystem, including Google Merchant Center and PLA campaign setup.
- Strong MS Excel skills (vlookups, sumifs, pivot tables) and hands-on experience with analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics.
- Proven ability to analyze large data sets and drive actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work onsite in the SF office Monday through Thursday.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Domo, or PowerBI.
- 1-2 years of people management experience, including mentoring and growing marketing teams.
- Background in performance marketing for DTC brands or agency settings.
