JonnyPops, LLC is hiring: Digital Artist - Graphic Design in Minneapolis

Position Overview

At JonnyPops, our team is empowered to make an impact every day – from producing high-quality, innovative frozen novelties to spreading kindness one pop at a time. Based in Elk River, MN, JonnyPops develops, manufactures, distributes, and markets frozen novelties to major retailers coast to coast. Founded in 2012 with the mission to make “A Better Pop for a Better World!”, we lead the frozen novelties space in innovation using simple ingredients with no artificial dyes.

We are seeking a curious, imaginative, and forward-thinking Digital Artist to join our energetic marketing and creative team. In this role, you will partner closely with the Manager, Art & Design and the Marketing team to develop engaging, on-brand content that supports our marketing, product, and sales initiatives.
Location: Elk River, MN
Salary: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
Compensation: Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional bonuses and/or commissions

Key Responsibilities

• Design and produce a wide range of visual assets—including digital marketing content, traditional advertising, sales tools, event materials, physical SWAG, omni-channel campaign content, and packaging design support.
• Follow brand guidelines and serve as a gatekeeper of the brand.
• Sketch concepts to visually articulate ideas and illustrate custom visuals that enhance our branding.
• Execute production tasks such as prepping packaging files and creating/exporting image assets.
• Collaborate with the Creative Lead, designers, CEO/Founder, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to elevate our creative output.
• Support photo and video productions as needed.
• Incorporate constructive feedback throughout the design process.
• Partner with outside agencies and collaborators to bring projects to life.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
• Utilize project management tools (such as Wrike or Asana) to collaborate across teams.
• Champion the brand and consumer focus in every creative piece.
• Leverage consumer insights to continuously improve design strategies.
• Stay updated on design trends and industry best practices, especially within the food and beverage sector.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 3+ years of experience in design with a proven track record of innovative thinking and strategic projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts, design, visual communications or equivalent professional experience.
• High proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other relevant software.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to thrive on ambiguous projects.
• A genuine passion for creativity, consumers, and innovation with a keen interest in food and beverage trends.
• Proven illustration and sketching skills.
• Eagerness to excel in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
• Natural curiosity and the ability to embrace a “test and learn” mentality.
• A portfolio showcasing proven brand work through creative assets that tell a compelling brand story.
• Commitment to following hygienic practices and food safety guidelines when handling food items.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in web design and familiarity with content management systems.
• History of working within project management systems.
• A curiosity for copywriting.
