Position Overview

Grand Central Publishing, a division of Hachette Book Group, seeks a Marketing Associate to join our team. In this role, you will aid in all aspects of developing strategic title marketing campaigns and collaborate across teams on imprint-wide initiatives. You will work closely with authors on the creation and execution of customized campaigns for primarily nonfiction publications including memoir, narrative and topical nonfiction, self-help, and more. This is an exciting opportunity for an engaged, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic marketer based in NYC. Please note our current hybrid model is two days per week in the office, which will change to three days in-office and two days working from home effective January 2025.

Compensation: $53,200 - $56,000. Salary can vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior marketing team members in creating and executing innovative and strategic brand and title campaigns for priority projects.
  • Individually manage title-marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, analytics, and budgets for multiple titles per season.
  • Liaise with publishing, editorial, sales, publicity, and the larger marketing department to implement cohesive campaigns and promotions.
  • Communicate marketing updates to sales, authors, agents, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Pitch organizations, VIPs, social media influencers, and partners for cross-promotional opportunities for select titles.
  • Contribute to the imprint’s social media, website, and newsletter channels as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in marketing or publishing with a demonstrated ability to innovate and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team while taking full ownership of your work and implementing independent campaign strategies.
  • Fluency in key marketing concepts and tools including email, social media marketing, influencer partnerships, and search engine marketing and optimization.
  • Experience presenting to large groups in both internal meetings and with external partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a busy environment.
