Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Position Overview

Digital Consultants – a certified SBA 8(a) small, disadvantaged business dedicated to honesty, trust, and ethical practices – is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer. In this on‐site role based in Tampa, FL (with flexible remote work per project requirements), you will provide advanced operational, engineering, and integration support across a complex, multi‐vendor IT infrastructure supporting U.S. Government and Foreign Military Sales missions.

Key Responsibilities

• Correlate threat data from various sources to identify and analyze cyber threats.
• Provide comprehensive assessments and situational reports to ensure awareness of current cyber threats.
• Develop detailed cyber threat profiles and conduct forensic and intrusion analyses.
• Support high-technology investigations through computer evidence seizure, forensic analysis, data recovery, and network assessments.
• Lead integration efforts by working alongside specialized engineers on multi-vendor infrastructures, validating network traffic and ensuring cybersecurity tools effectively intercept and log threats.
• Implement and tune SIEM data sources (e.g., NIDS, firewalls, domain controllers) to maintain manageable security event monitoring.

Required Qualifications

• Education: High School with 9+ years of relevant experience (or commensurate experience).
• Clearance: Active Secret clearance required.
• Certifications: Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (e.g., Security+CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, CASP).
• Travel: Must have a valid US Passport and be prepared for international travel up to 40%.
• Extensive experience in Cyber Network Defense, Cybersecurity Operations, or equivalent CCNP-level certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant Master's Degree in a related field, or BS Degree with 8+ years experience, or HS Diploma with 12+ years experience.
• Military background in Signal, Communications, Cyber, or Information Technology is highly desired.
• Additional certifications such as JNCIS-SEC/JNCIP-SEC, PCNSA/PCNSE, GIAC/GSEC, or GCP.
• Certifications in Microsoft Systems MCSA, VMware, Cloud Security, or Linux are a plus.
