Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Director, Software Engineering to lead our enterprise technology initiatives. In this role, you will define strategic direction, oversee development operations, and champion user-centric design, ensuring alignment with long‐term organizational priorities. Compensation: Base pay range is $200,000.00/yr - $265,000.00/yr with additional Annual Bonus potential. Key Responsibilities
- Define Strategic Direction: Partner with business leaders to establish a clear and future-focused vision for enterprise technology, ensuring alignment with long-term organizational priorities.
- Oversee Development Operations: Lead cross-functional development efforts from planning through execution, ensuring projects meet scope, timing, and quality benchmarks.
- Champion User-Centric Design: Act as the voice of both internal and external users, turning business requirements into intuitive and valuable software experiences.
- Manage Delivery Milestones: Track timelines and deliverables to ensure development efforts align with architectural standards and technical specifications.
- Leverage Metrics for Growth: Identify and monitor key performance indicators to optimize software delivery and continuously improve team productivity.
- Coordinate Release Management: Direct release planning, deployment processes, and version control to maintain platform stability and smooth user transitions.
- Own the Full Development Lifecycle: Guide teams through requirement gathering, technical design, development, QA testing, and final rollout, ensuring consistency and clarity at every step.
- Enforce Quality Assurance Standards: Implement quality control measures and evolve best practices, tooling standards, and development protocols to raise technical excellence.
- Drive System Optimization: Improve application performance, scalability, and data security through architectural improvements and infrastructure enhancements.
- Cultivate Knowledge Sharing: Encourage a learning-focused environment through mentorship, peer reviews, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Administer Departmental Budgets: Allocate resources strategically and monitor spending to ensure fiscal responsibility while achieving project goals.
- Support and Empower Teams: Offer hands-on support, unblock challenges, and create opportunities for decision-making and ownership across technical teams.
- Align Team Objectives: Set clear, measurable goals that reinforce business strategies and keep teams focused on high-impact outcomes.
- Mentor and Guide Talent: Foster team growth through regular coaching, skills development, and individual career path planning.
- Collaborate on People Initiatives: Work closely with HR to manage staffing, performance reviews, and employee relations.
- Promote Skill Advancement: Encourage continuous learning by facilitating access to training, certifications, and professional development resources.
- Adapt and Contribute as Needed: Stay agile and ready to jump in wherever necessary to support the overall success of the business and its technology initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics)
- 12+ years of progressive experience in software development or engineering
- 8+ years in a technical leadership or managerial role
- Deep knowledge of modern development frameworks: .NET, NodeJS, React, React Native, Angular
- Hands-on experience deploying enterprise solutions like ERP and CRM platforms
- Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed teams with cultural sensitivity
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- Strategic mindset with a record of driving transformation and high-performing team cultures
