Position Overview

Join Intuit to apply for the Staff Data Scientist, Platform Performance role. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to join our Platform Analytics team. In this role, you will serve as a thought leader and strategic partner to product, platform, and engineering leadership, driving unified measurement frameworks and ensuring analytics excellence across global teams. You will leverage your deep expertise in data science, experimentation, and scalable measurement—including designing evaluation frameworks for Generative AI (GenAI) and agentic workflows such as GenAI‑powered digital assistants—to shape how both foundational platforms and emerging AI capabilities are measured, optimized, and integrated into Intuit’s platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with product, platform, and engineering leaders to align analytics and observability priorities with platform goals, enabling data‑driven decisions on investments and improvements.
  • Define, instrument, and govern key platform KPIs that measure reliability, scalability, and business impact.
  • Build SLA‑bound dashboards, lead KPI reviews, and implement proactive alerting to ensure platform resilience and transparency.
  • Champion platform performance insights across analytics teams, ensuring consistent visibility and alignment on key metrics and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with analytics partners to define and track success metrics for Generative AI and agentic workflows, focusing on quality, trust, and customer value.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identify opportunities for optimization, and recommend data‑backed experiments to enhance platform performance.
  • Uphold best practices in data quality, governance, and sustainable observability infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 7+ years of combined academic and industry experience applying scientific methods to real‑world, large‑scale data problems.
  • Proven expertise in statistical analysis, experimentation design, and causal inference techniques.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or R, with proficiency in SQL (Hive/Presto/Big Query experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated success building unified KPI frameworks, measurement pipelines, or analytics governance structures at scale.
  • Experience providing technical oversight to global analytics or data science teams.
  • Hands‑on experience designing evaluation and measurement frameworks for Generative AI and agentic workflows, including conversational AI, AI assistants, and autonomous task orchestration.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate ambiguous questions into clear analytical frameworks, success metrics, and actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior leadership and cross‑functional partners.
  • Track record of embedding analytics into product and platform decisions that drive measurable business impact.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: Competitive package with a strong pay-for-performance rewards approach, including eligibility for a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits as per applicable plans and programs.
  • Base Pay Ranges: Bay Area California: $186,500–$252,000; Southern California: $179,000–$242,000.
