IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST

Position Overview

Excel as a Technology Reviewer on DCSA's Cyber Operational Readiness Assessment (CORA) Team. Conduct advanced security assessments using STIGs, provide expert analysis, and strengthen national cyber defense. Key Responsibilities

• Perform assessments, inspections, and reviews at contractor facilities in accordance with established DoD policies, including industrial security procedures and regulations safeguarding classified information.
• Evaluate technical and operational risks and vulnerabilities in IT environments (networks, systems, applications, and infrastructure) to identify weaknesses and protect assets.
• Review authorization and assurance documents to confirm that risk levels for software applications, systems, and networks are within acceptable limits.
• Provide accurate technical evaluations documenting the security posture, capabilities, and vulnerabilities against relevant cybersecurity compliances.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen; Selective Service requirements apply for males born after 12-31-59.
• Must obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance and be certified under the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (Cyber Code 541, Vulnerability Assessment Analyst) at the Basic level; if not currently certified as a DoD Cyber Defense Command Technology Reviewer, training and a successful check-ride are required within 6 months.
• Demonstrated IT-related experience (GS-5 through GS-15 levels) including competencies in Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
• Specialized experience using Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), cybersecurity principles, and risk management processes to assess networks, endpoint security, vulnerability scanning, and overall IT environment security.
