Salary: $22hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for moving material within the distribution center and from the loading platform by carrying, pushing, rolling, or operating hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, motorized conveyors, or other material handling equipment.
- Must have a clean driving record and be able to clear for your DOT Certification.
- Receive incoming inventory and supply items, log them into the company warehouse system, and stock inventory in the proper location.
- Read work orders, shipping orders, or follow verbal instructions.
- Fill customer invoices by checking part numbers, cleaning, and packing inventory items.
- Inspect inventory for defects, scratches, or damage and notify the Warehouse Manager of any problems.
- Follow all company safety and accident procedures while on company premises or when operating company vehicles or equipment.
- Track all inventory in the appropriate system.
- Organize and clean warehouse space and company equipment as needed.
- Report any customer problems or concerns immediately.
- Coach fellow associates on warehouse operational practices, equipment operation, and safety procedures when needed.
- Enforce policies and procedures to ensure efficient, effective, and safe warehouse operations.
- Evaluate current processes and recommend changes to warehouse management.
- Contribute ideas to reduce warehouse cost per unit and increase productivity.
- Maintain working knowledge of the warehouse data system and perform various tasks within the system.
- Deliver supplies and equipment in a timely fashion while observing all regulated DOT and OSHA standards when requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Track record of completing work with a high level of quality.
- Knack for solving complex problems and a hands-on approach to work.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to walk or stand for long hours and to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifts of up to 50 pounds.
- Forklift operating experience; Forklift Certification is a plus.
- Proficient in operating personal computers and using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- At least 1 year of warehouse experience.
