Position Overview
Location: Tampa, FL
EMS is a trusted provider of advanced 3D precision measurement solutions for metrology and reverse engineering applications. We work with a wide array of companies across the automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, power generation, and similar industries. Due to growth, EMS has an immediate opening to expand our Application Engineering team in the Tampa, FL area. Our fast-paced, growth-oriented environment offers the opportunity to learn and use cutting-edge 3D scanning and measurement systems and software. The successful candidate will be responsible for on- and off-site 3D scanning, CAD modeling, dimensional inspection, and providing pre- and post-sale technical support through benchmarks, customer demos, and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect 3D scan data on and off-site
- Create as-built models from 3D scan data
- Prepare dimensional inspection reports including GD&T
- Support the EMS sales organization during the sales process
- Deliver product demonstrations and presentations
- Represent EMS at tradeshows and other events
- Perform installation, training, and on-going support for customers
- Travel as required (up to 50%)
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated 3D CAD solid and surface modeling knowledge with experience in SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Creo, CATIA, or other 3D CAD software
- Pro-active self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial team environment
- Highly customer-focused with excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, time management, and organizational skills with attention to detail
- US Citizenship required and willingness to travel as needed
- Ability to physically lift and carry 3D scanning equipment and related accessories
Preferred Qualifications
- A 4-year degree in mechanical, aerospace, or industrial engineering is strongly preferred (candidates without a degree but with related experience will be considered)
- SolidWorks Associate certification is preferred
- Experience with 3D scanners, laser trackers, probing systems, and related software
- Familiarity with GD&T and inspection processes
- Experience with other applications such as animation, reverse engineering, CAM, or PDM
- Knowledge of 3D scanning, metrology, and/or reverse engineering industries
- Experience with Microsoft Windows and Office products
