Summary

• Detail oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer involved in all QA activities including LTE and 5G Field Protocol and SIM OTA activation testing.
• Developing and executing test strategies and plans to validate UE functionality on 4G/5G air interfaces and call processing technology.
• Ensuring that UE (user equipment) meets QA and Carrier requirements.
• Performing detailed analysis of 4G and 5G protocols including field testing with mobile handset devices in live networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate in a mobile work environment (80% in vehicle/field, 20% in office).
• Analyze customer requirements, convert them into system requirements, and capture detailed design for the development team.
• Aid in product and feature performance analysis and evaluate new product and software releases.
• Analyze and troubleshoot issues reported from customer labs, field sites, and production networks.
• Review and recommend improvements for UE performance by evaluating key KPIs, conducting trials, and providing optimization guidelines.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Set up test plans to meet deadlines as outlined by the project lead.
• Identify risk items based on issues found during testing.
• Travel up to 25% of the time.

Required Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Solid understanding of end-to-end LTE and 5G Network Architecture.
• Deep knowledge of 4G and 5G air interface, call processing technologies, and Radio Access Network architecture.
• Familiarity or expertise with UE log post-processing tools (QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark, ShannonDM) and a good understanding of OTA signaling messages.
• Ability to analyze and debug IMS-related features including registration, VoLTE/VoWiFi/ViLTE, conferencing, SMS, MMS, and RCS.
• Previous experience in post-processing UE logs and analyzing various KPIs.
• Field test experience with LTE and 5G NR in live networks.
• Good familiarity with both 5G NSA and SA.
• Experience with SIM OTA Activation testing.
