Position Overview
The Kan-Kan Cinema, an independent nonprofit art house cinema, seeks an Engagement and Marketing Manager to connect audiences, members, and donors with our programming. In this hands-on role you will develop and edit communications, oversee marketing efforts, and support member and donor engagement. Reports To: Executive Director. Location: Indianapolis (Hybrid/On-site). Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt. Expected Hours: 35–45 per week. Compensation: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year.
This role ensures that every film and event is marketed thoughtfully and that members and donors feel inspired to connect deeply with the art of cinema.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead marketing and communications (50%): create and edit content, manage newsletters, social media, and campaigns, collaborate with programming and web subcontractor, and promote films through local media.
- Support programming & strategy (20%): participate in programming meetings, design engagement strategies, and help develop unique marketing materials for special projects.
- Drive donor & member engagement (30%): coordinate communications, support giving campaigns, plan events, and manage the grants calendar.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Experience with Salesforce, Mailchimp, and social media platforms.
