We are seeking a Packaging Consultant responsible for maximizing sales and profitability through prospecting, business retention, and account development.
Location: San Diego, California
Key Responsibilities
- Prospecting: Identify, secure, and develop new customers by consultatively selling solutions, developing accurate proposals, and closing deals.
- Business Retention: Maintain existing business through the effective use of Berlin Packaging's sales tools and resources.
- Account Development (Share of Wallet): Develop the existing customer base and maximize sales and profitability through new and existing product offerings.
- Project Management: Collaborate with internal value-added sales resources and service divisions (including Sourcing, Studio 111, and Custom Tooling) to complete complex sales transactions.
- Develop effective working relationships with customers, ensuring contractual terms and obligations are met.
- Establish and maintain robust supplier relationships and product knowledge.
- Utilize Salesforce, marketing tools, and other systems effectively to win business.
- Drive customer satisfaction and support branch metrics while upholding the “Berlin Values”.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Experience Required: 3+ years of successful consultative B2B sales and prospecting experience involving complex project management and relationship-based transactions.
- Highly focused on customer needs with a merchant mentality and strong attention to detail.
- Strong business and financial acumen with a passion for continuous learning and growth.
- Ability to effectively partner with internal teams and utilize sales tools to develop new accounts and retain existing business.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal, active listening, and confident presentation abilities.
- Self-motivated and independent with exceptional creativity, passion, and competitiveness to overcome challenges and achieve results.
- Proficiency with MS Office and Salesforce CRM is strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel as required.
