Position Overview
DESIGNATION is a full-time, full-immersion, full-stack design bootcamp where students learn digital design, front-end development, and user experience (UX) over 12 weeks by working with live clients on real world projects. The Visual Design Instructor role is an evening part-time position (6pm–9pm lectures three times per month, plus a Saturday workshop and office hours) that empowers you to share your passion for UI and visual design, mentor aspiring design students, and help enhance a cutting-edge curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach UI and visual design to students (4 classes/month) using DESIGNATION's proprietary curriculum along with your unique insights.
- Mentor students in person and via email, providing constructive feedback.
- Connect job-ready students with potential opportunities by interfacing with the student job placement program.
- Enhance the UI and visual design curriculum through innovative contributions.
- Develop and share thought leadership content, including articles for the DESIGNATION blog and participation in workshops/events.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of industry experience.
- A working professional with a passion for digital and user-centered design, equipped with extensive real-world insights.
- Commitment to technology and excellence in teaching UI and visual design principles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- An educational background is a plus, but not required.
