Position Overview
The purpose of the Operations Supervisor is to handle all aspects of the day-to-day shift operation for the assigned site and ensure all operational performance expectations for the facility are met. This role sets up each shift for success so that the building meets its operation and profitability goals. The Operations Supervisor directly supervises Warehouse Associates and is empowered to make significant decisions regarding discipline, terminations, and other employment status changes, exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to key business matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager to ensure building safety and planning by verifying that all safety documents are signed off, safety procedures are followed, PPE is correctly used, and lifts are signed out and inspected.
- Support the General Manager and Operations Manager with labor planning and maintaining productivity standards by planning labor per production/customer needs, utilizing labor for value-added services, reducing excessive labor for profitability, tracking/training associates, assisting with retention and turnover, and meeting daily shift KPIs.
- Collaborate with leadership to support staff development through cross-training and on-job training by conducting daily startup meetings, presenting daily plans, providing updates, training and motivating employees, implementing a continuous improvement program, and challenging employees to boost productivity.
- Assist in implementing productivity improvements by studying processes with Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies to improve and standardize processes and eliminate waste.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively in loud, high-traffic areas
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and willingness to learn Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and customer ERP systems
- Ability to move around the warehouse floor up to 70% of working hours
- Diploma or GED equivalency (Required)
- 1–3 years of supervisory experience (Required)

- Warehouse leadership experience (Preferred)
- Forklift experience (Preferred)
- Food grade facility experience (A plus)
- HighJump WMS experience (A plus)
- SAP experience (A plus)
- RF Unit experience (Preferred)
