Position Overview
Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist who embodies our mission, vision, and values. The Compensation for this position is between $60.10 and $78.13 per hour; placement within this range depends on relevant work experience, internal equity, and, where applicable, collective bargaining agreements.

Key Responsibilities
- Follow all NM Medicine Best Practice Procedures and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Transfer prescriptions with appropriate documentation and process refill authorizations accurately.
- Dispense medications using professional judgment; verify each prescription for safety and accuracy.
- Supervise ancillary personnel, students, and technicians, and assist in their training.
- Document all clinical activities and interventions in the electronic medical record and therapy management systems.
- Manage medication inventory, including controlled substances and scheduled medications.
- Consult with healthcare professionals regarding pharmacokinetics, drug interactions, and adverse effects.
- Participate in quality improvement, orientation, education/training programs, and medication use review activities.
- Take after-hours call on a rotating basis, triage, and address patient requirements independently.
- Oversee the packaging, labeling, and distribution of medications ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
- Complete incident reports within 24 hours of error notification and communicate potential issues to prescribers.
- Participate actively in pharmacy staff meetings and collaborate closely with peers and management.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Illinois
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Training and experience in specialty areas (e.g., neonatology, critical care, oncology)
- Completion of a pharmacy residency program or equivalent hospital pharmacy experience
