Position Overview

Create Music Group is an LA-based digital music company that provides artists and labels with distribution, rights management, and creative services. It has monetized over 12 billion monthly music streams and recovered over $150 million in unclaimed revenue for its clients. Label Engine, acquired in 2015, is renowned as one of the industry’s most efficient distribution platforms.

Create Music Group’s Business Affairs team is growing and is seeking an individual to assist in agreement drafting, managing terminations, takedowns, conflicts, and organizing legal information. This is an excellent, hands-on introductory opportunity for anyone interested in a future career in music law.

Key Responsibilities

• Creating documents on Salesforce
• Tracking deals across various departments
• Drafting simple forms and reviewing contracts
• Populating schedule information
• Managing the material terms in client accounts
• Closing deals and creating abstracts for each deal
• Sending documents for execution and saving the same
• Organizing deal terms, client information, and documents
• Requesting contracting information from artists, managers, and legal teams
• Coordinating final deal points with A&Rs
• Creating and reviewing redlines and edits to agreement drafts
• Keeping track of deal negotiations
• Communicating with various teams across the company
• Managing projects within the Business Affairs team
• Managing the deal flow and following up on actionable items as needed
• Helping maintain Business Affairs deal templates, including ironing out errors in Salesforce
• Scheduling meetings

Required Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in law school
• Needs to be organized and detail oriented
• Strong communication skills
• Interest in the legal field and eagerness to learn
• Self-learner
• Ability to handle a high volume of projects
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe

Preferred Qualifications

• Some music industry experience preferred
