Position Overview
This position is 100% in-person, onsite in Kansas City, MO and does not qualify for any relocation assistance. Prospective candidates must be able to interview in person if identified during the recruitment process.

The Marketing Event Specialist will plan, organize, and execute our presence at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to maximize brand visibility, generate qualified leads, and strengthen industry relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and collaborate on the selection of trade shows and events aligned with company goals.
- Develop event calendars and timelines for all activities.
- Plan trade show logistics including registration, booth design, and ensuring internal teams are prepared; monitor and evaluate performance metrics.
- Manage and coordinate events, sponsorships, and local association memberships.
- Coordinate booth design, layout, and branding to ensure a professional and engaging presence.
- Create and maintain budgets for events, associations, and local sponsorships.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and partner teams to identify event opportunities, needs, and target audiences.
- Handle shipping, setup, and teardown of booths and materials.
- Manage vendor relationships for booth construction, AV equipment, and promotional items.
- Ensure compliance with event regulations and deadlines.
- Oversee the creation of collateral, giveaways, and signage at events.
- Create and manage marketing materials including brochures, banners, and digital assets.
- Collaborate on pre-event and post-event campaigns to maximize impact.
- Maintain brand consistency across all event touchpoints.
- Implement strategies to capture and qualify leads during events.
- Track ROI and prepare post-event reports analyzing performance and outcomes.
- Provide recommendations for future event improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education).
- 2–4 years of experience in event and/or trade show planning, facilitation, and marketing coordination.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel up to 30% as required.
- Self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment.
- Effective time management with the ability to multi-task, be innovative, and collaborate effectively.
- Demonstrated adeptness in problem-solving in fast-changing environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in event and trade show marketing, planning, and implementation within the transportation and/or bus manufacturing and sales industry.
- Familiarity with CRM and event planning software.
- Proven track record of delivering target ROI goals for trade shows and events.
