Position Overview

The Internal Auditor position at Amazon focuses on assessing the Worldwide Stores functions, ensuring effective design and operation of business and IT controls. The role involves collaborating with various teams to identify risks, enhance compliance, and improve operational performance — a unique opportunity to leverage internal audit skills while gaining exposure to Amazon's global business and technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assessments of Amazon's Worldwide Stores functions.
• Support planning, scoping, execution, and reporting based on identified risks.
• Evaluate business controls and IT general controls, including identity and access management and data security/privacy.
• Identify opportunities for control improvements to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
• Provide independent and objective insights to service teams and partners.
• Engage with business leaders to guide the organization towards effective risk management.

Required Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, accounting, finance, math or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in Operations and IT internal auditing, risk management, controls & compliance, project management, and information security.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture and cloud computing environments.
• Understanding of information technology and experience in auditing information systems and controls.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA).
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Business, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Familiarity with COSO, COBIT, ISO, NIST, and/or ITIL frameworks.
• Experience working in an internet start-up culture with complexities and ambiguities.
