General Summary:
Responsible for installing, adjusting, calibrating, testing, fabricating, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing all hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the DPM system.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance with DTC policies and procedures related to management work orders and the System Safety Program Plan.
- Follows established DTC procedures and approved technical methods for installing, adjusting, calibrating, testing, fabricating, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing all systems.
- Maintains and repairs electromechanical vehicle subsystems, track and guideway subsystems, and facility electromechanical subsystems.
- Executes response plans for unplanned or emergency events, participating in emergency maintenance teams that may evacuate the DPM, assist injured individuals, extinguish fires, and conduct extensive repairs on structures, the power distribution system, SCADA, and ATC systems.
- Works independently or collaboratively with other technicians to complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks across all electromechanical areas of the DPM, including in-depth troubleshooting of hydraulic, HVAC, and mechanical hardware systems. Reads and interprets maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematics, and drawings, and creates technical diagrams to aid in communication.
- Acts as a Quick Response Person (QRP), conducting immediate assessments of unexpected vehicle and guideway conditions as needed.
- Provides recommendations to the Maintenance Shift Supervisor regarding potential hardware or procedural improvements identified during maintenance operations.
- Conducts safety and functional tests on DPM vehicles and subsystems.
- Tracks and documents all materials used in maintenance activities.
- Responsible for incorporating safety into all aspects of job functions Performs all other assigned duties.

Minimum:
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- operations and maintenance of mechanical systems for heavy transportation vehicles preferably rail transit
- Minimum of two years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of large electro-mechanical systems and components
- Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred:
Advanced vocational/technical training (minimum two-year technical school diploma)
Essential:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, pumps, air conditioners, humidifiers, and drainage systems, with a general understanding of mixing chemical solutions for various applications.
- Skilled in working with electronic devices, pressure transducers, and chart recording instruments, with the ability to read and interpret complex hydraulic and refrigeration schematics.
- Proficient in materials, methods, tools, hazards, and safety practices related to mechanical systems, including the use of power hand tools and basic machine shop equipment.
- Knowledgeable in the design, modification, and construction of mechanical equipment, as well as maintenance procedures, building maintenance, and basic welding techniques, ensuring high-quality and adequate mechanical work.

- The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions
- Required working in various physical environments, including ground level, elevated heights, and maintenance pits.
- Must be able to perform the following with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Walk, stand, sit, speak, hear and use of manual dexterity
- Prolonged periods standing, bending and stooping, some sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Lift and carry up to 50lbs
Other Requirements:
- Must pass a background check
- Must pass complete physical examination and drug screen
- Must have a driver’s record compliant to ‘DTC Driving Policy’
- Must maintain certification of DPM task requirements (i.e. certified to drive the train)
