Job Description

Position Overview

This role is responsible for performing calibration and preventative maintenance on basic industrial weighing equipment – including floor and bench scales – following METTLER TOLEDO procedures and customer requirements. The candidate may assist on installations, projects and repairs as necessary and must be willing to attain and maintain a Class B CDL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform basic end user training.
  • Conduct calibrations and preventative maintenance duties in accordance with METTLER TOLEDO procedures and customer requirements.
  • Assist and cooperate with the Scheduling Analyst and Service Support Team as needed.
  • Ensure company vehicle maintenance complies with fleet requirements and policies.
  • Proactively promote and sell service and products by submitting sales leads commensurate with experience.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and customer safety and quality policies and procedures.
  • Complete all work assignments on time while meeting customer uptime requirements.
  • Accurately complete and submit all required paperwork via the company-issued Laptop PC on a daily basis.
  • Maintain professional relationships with external/internal customers, sales, technicians and leadership.
  • Foster an atmosphere of collaboration and teamwork with field and service support colleagues.
  • Comply with the Company Fleet policy and submit Weights & Measures paperwork to state/county in a timely manner.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • A valid driver's license.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, or 5 years of relevant experience in Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Technology, or Computer Science.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical repair principles including PC networking and software configuration.
  • 1–3 years of electro/mechanical repair or weighing industry experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL and Weights and Measures license (failure to obtain or loss may result in termination).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the capability to learn proprietary METTLER TOLEDO software.
  • Availability to travel (up to 25% depending on business needs) and work overtime (10–25% as required).
  • Willingness to work in varied conditions with exposure to chemicals, solvents, vehicle traffic, machinery, dust, and cold environments, and to wear special protective equipment when needed.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing and a DOT physical exam.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (AA) with a technical major or equivalent from a two-year college.
  • Customer-facing or field service experience (commercial experience desired).
