Senior Warehouse Operations Manager

Job Description

Our client, a rapidly expanding global logistics firm, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee and optimize operations at their state-of-the-art facility in Miami, Florida, US. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective flow of goods through the warehouse. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in warehouse management, supply chain optimization, and team leadership.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic operational plans to meet company objectives related to throughput, inventory accuracy, and cost reduction.
• Manage all aspects of daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of warehouse associates and supervisors, fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze operational data, and implement corrective actions to drive performance improvements.
• Manage inventory levels and ensure accuracy through regular cycle counts and audits.
• Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize efficiency.
• Collaborate with other departments, including procurement, sales, and transportation, to ensure seamless supply chain integration.
• Oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse equipment and machinery.
• Manage vendor relationships for operational supplies and services.
• Implement and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies.
• Drive initiatives for process improvement and lean warehousing methodologies.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Manage operational budgets and control expenses effectively.
• Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment to meet customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree: in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in warehouse management or operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
• Lean principles: Proven experience in implementing and managing lean warehousing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Team management: Demonstrated ability to manage a large team and drive performance.
• Analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
• Software proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Safety knowledge: Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
• Shipping experience: Experience with international shipping and customs procedures is a plus.
• Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing business needs.
• Work eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
