We are seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for our Las Vegas, Nevada location. In this role, you will collaborate with some of the best physicians in their fields and assist with patient care in a dynamic clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.
- Record patient data before each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
- Obtain all necessary patient records as required by the physician prior to treatment or procedures.
- Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
- Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
- Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated by an RN or physician.
- Maintain exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
- Respond to patients’ calls and perform additional administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, and reception work as needed.
- Alert the nurse or physician of abnormal vital signs and any important information provided by the patient.
- Collect inbound meaningful use data including flu documentation, initial height, and weight measurements.
- Print medication lists for patient review and assist with completing disability forms.
- Schedule blood transfusions, therapeutic phlebotomies, and order special tests (e.g., Oncotypes, Kras testing, EGFR, Myriad, Paradigm, etc.).
- Enter orders under a provider’s direction and supervision when required.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants is preferred.
- 0-5 (+) years experience as a medical or nursing assistant.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification is required.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
- Compliance with state-specific certification requirements for Medical Assistants.
