Position Overview
American Specialty Health Incorporated is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our Customer Service-Clinical department. The primary function of this role is to answer incoming calls from Providers, Members, and Health Plans to assist with benefit information and problem resolution. This role is Remote (WFH) and requires a designated work area at home with company-provided technology and a stable internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps download and upload speed).
Key Responsibilities
- Receives and responds to incoming telephone calls.
- Answers incoming calls/chats and makes outgoing calls in a professional, accurate, timely, and courteous manner.
- Communicates professionally at all times.
- Ascertain the nature of the call and record information in ASH proprietary systems.
- Looks up caller information using ASH systems and provides the necessary details.
- Forwards logs requiring further research to the appropriate department.
- Utilizes available resources, including online tools, to provide timely responses.
- Manages time effectively to ensure calls are answered promptly with appropriate follow up.
- Meets or exceeds key job accountabilities for the role.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following all legal and compliance requirements.
- Completes all ASH and CSS trainings in a timely manner.
- Attends weekly staff meetings to address issues and foster teamwork.
- Responds to requests from internal and external customers as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year of experience performing customer service duties; inbound call center experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to utilize and maneuver multiple systems during a single interaction.
