Position Overview
At Northrop Grumman's Defense Sector, our Advanced Weapons division is seeking a Data Scientist 4 to drive innovative data-driven processes and deliver actionable insights from diverse datasets. You will work on site in Woodland Hills, CA (no remote work). Travel: 10% of the time. Clearance Required: Secret. Relocation Assistance: May be available.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze multiple data sources to identify trends and patterns using engineering fundamentals.
- Interpret data and apply statistical techniques to provide insightful reports to stakeholders.
- Summarize and communicate data insights, drawing conclusions to guide strategic decisions.
- Generate ideas and build tools to automate analysis processes.
- Effectively communicate findings through visualization and presentations.
- Design, model, and document the relationships between data elements for enhanced analytics.
Required Qualifications
- Comfort with requirements analysis and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on root-cause analysis.
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
- Proven ability to create and present comprehensive data reports.
- Exceptional attention to detail and robust prioritization skills.
- Experience developing/programming tools to improve pipeline efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical area with 8 years of relevant experience (6 years with technical MS; 4 years with a PhD in a related field).
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib.
- Experience with Python and relevant packages (pandas, numpy, matplotlib) and familiarity with data gathering, cleansing, and transformation techniques.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Product Lifecycle experience.
- Proficiency in SQL and other query languages.
- Experience mentoring and leading peers on data science projects.
- Strong applied statistics skills (distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.).
- Experience with JMP (SAS statistical tool) and scripting in JSL.
- MATLAB experience.

- Compensation: Primary Level Salary Range: $151,100.00 - $226,700.00
- Relocation Assistance: May be available.
