Position Overview
The Associate Director of DevOps Engineering is a strategic and technical leadership role responsible for guiding our DevOps initiatives. You will lead a team of talented DevOps engineers, driving standardization and building strong partnerships with software delivery teams to enhance the speed, security, and reliability of our software delivery pipeline. As a hands-on leader, you will oversee CI/CD processes, champion automation to reduce manual toil, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across engineering and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a customer-focused team of DevOps engineers to mature the DevOps platform.
- Oversee and optimize CI/CD processes while building strong partnerships with engineering teams.
- Champion automation across the development lifecycle to enhance efficiency and security.
- Drive the execution of the DevOps strategy and technical roadmap in alignment with business objectives.
- Foster collaboration between development and operations teams to streamline processes and improve deployment speed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
- 8-10+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering with 3+ years of leadership experience.
- 3+ years’ experience leading engineers implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
- 2+ years’ experience managing non-engineering functions such as recruiting, financial budgets, and career development for a growing team.
- Strong people leadership skills with a dedication to developing talent and fostering a collaborative culture.
- A proven track record in promoting transparency and shared responsibility between development and operations teams.
- Passion for continuously improving consumer experiences and operational efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent experience.
- Expertise with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Extensive experience with CI/CD tools, containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and pipeline-as-code.
- Proficiency with monitoring and logging solutions such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, ELK Stack, or Splunk for proactive issue detection.
