Position Overview
Our Indianapolis studio is growing! We’re seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in building systems design to join our collaborative, interdisciplinary team at a nationally recognized Architecture + Engineering firm. You will work on complex, sustainable projects across healthcare, higher education, civic, workplace, and science & technology sectors. This hybrid role in Indianapolis offers a dynamic work environment, strong mentorship, and real ownership in the firm’s future through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
Key Responsibilities
- Design innovative and efficient mechanical and HVAC systems for new construction, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects.
- Perform system sizing, load calculations, and equipment selection using Revit, AutoCAD, and other industry tools.
- Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, and consultants to deliver fully integrated solutions.
- Produce and support construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
- Conduct site assessments and participate in construction administration, including submittal reviews and responding to RFIs.
- Ensure mechanical systems are code-compliant, energy-efficient, and aligned with sustainability goals.
- Engage in a collaborative design process from project kick-off to closeout.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of professional experience
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for mechanical system design
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems, building codes, and sustainable design strategies
- Passion for collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning
Preferred Qualifications
- PE license (preferred or actively pursuing licensure)
