Security Officer - Access Control Finance

Position Overview

In this role as a Security Officer - Access Control Finance in Newark, NJ, you will safeguard clients in industries such as Financial Institutions by monitoring and controlling entry points. You will help deter security incidents through keen observation and excellent customer service while working in a dynamic, welcoming, and collaborative environment.

Position Type: Full Time
Compensation: $17.00 / Hour

Key Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by executing security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a financial institution.
• Manage access control systems including verifying credentials and monitoring entry/exit points to deter unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols to identify unusual or suspicious behavior around the premises.
• Document and report security-related incidents, irregularities, or unusual situations per site procedures.
• Collaborate with site staff and Allied Universal management to maintain a secure environment for all.
• Assist with emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures as required.

Required Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Consent to a drug screen as permitted by law.
• Meet licensing requirements as dictated by state and/or local regulations, if applicable.
• Hold a valid driver’s license for driving positions.
